Villa Miami — Edgewater, Miami

The Residences

Villa Miami — Edgewater Bayfront ResidencesThe restaurant becomes the residence, on Biscayne Bay.

Villa Miami is the first time Major Food Group — the team behind Carbone and a generation of rooms people fly in for — has built a home rather than a restaurant. Developed by Terra and One Thousand Group on the Edgewater bayfront, with interiors by Charles & Co, architecture by ODP Architects, and gardens by Enzo Enea, it treats daily life the way MFG treats a dinner: fully serviced, a little theatrical, and built around the table.

The building announces itself in cast bronze. A sculptural exoskeleton wraps fifty-five floors — forty-nine residential, three given over to a private club — and anchors to a faceted, gemstone-inspired glass podium. Premium bay frontage runs along two sides, and a Lake Como–inspired floating pool vessel sits out on Biscayne Bay beside a cove. Inside, ceilings run ten to eleven feet behind floor-to-ceiling glass, with sunrise and sunset terraces on every home.

The kitchens are the point. Custom-designed by Mario Carbone for hosting and chef-level cooking, they carry CornuFé dual-fuel ranges, Wolf and Sub-Zero refrigeration, Taj Mahal quartzite counters, custom Italian cabinetry, and walk-in pantries. Full-floor Villa Piano residences run four to five bedrooms; half-floor Villa Mezzo homes, three to four. Primary suites wear Greige Onyx porcelain, oversized soaking tubs to the water, and atelier dressing rooms.

Then there is the service — 20,000 square feet of amenities run by MFG: the building’s own two-level Italian restaurant with bayfront and private dining, a residents’ juice bar, an Italian thermal-spa with plunge pools, a Technogym fitness floor, and a club with library, screening room, and game rooms. An on-site Estate Manager and In-House Curator anticipate the rest. A private dock and helipad are planned, subject to approvals.
